I feel like it is a relatively accurate stress test for my uses. Started with -100mv core voltage offset, ran a CPU stress test in intel XTU and temperatures seemed a bit better. I'm now using realbench as recommended by one of the commenters. Seeing as my CPU fails Prime95 but passes XTU ok, do you think my system is stable enough to never crash during normal gaming (and my general usage patterns)?Įdit: Thanks for all the help guys. It had the temp bouncing between 58-64 on. I ran a 5-minute cpu stress test with Intel extreme tuning utility. Other than that it's just web surfing and streaming/downloading videos (none of which are cpu intensive). I just completed a build fairly recently. The most demanding thing I do on my PC is game for 8-10 hours a day depending on the game. I am looking for a system that will never crash on me based on my day-to-day usage. Now to note: I am not looking for a 100% rock solid totally stable system. I've also stress tested using XTU for 1hour (both cpu and memory) and I had no issues.

I have it very modestly overclocked to 4.8ghz 1.27v. I've stress tested it with prime95 and it does fail within a minute or so (one of the threads anyway). Is XTU stress test more demanding than all gaming applications So Ive been stress testing my new i7 8700k gpu. Recently I’ve been playing gta 5 on this pc one thing I noticed is that after 30-60+ mins of gaming it starting to get laggy. So I've been stress testing my new i7 8700k gpu.
